The Mercedes-Benz CL is produced since 2006.

There is a choice of two engines and it do not really maters whichever you will go for, as both of them are incredibly quick and both have a huge amount of pulling power. The CL 600 delivers this super-coupe to 100 km/h (60 mph) in just under 5 seconds. A new CL 63 AMG unit is likely to be available in the near future and will have even more impressive power. The CL comes with an automatic gearbox, which is very well suited for the car.

The Mercedes-Benz CL has a superbly comfortable ride. Furthermore it handles really well, considering a size of the car. The only minor disappointment about the ride quality is a steering, which could give more feedback. Otherwise the CL rides exceptionally well.

Both wind and road noises are almost entirely absent, while the engine noise is also well kept away.

The only serious disadvantage of this car is it's price. The Mercedes-Benz CL is extremely expensive to buy. However if it's price don't put you off, large running costs and servicing certainly won't. The CL's resale values are likely to be strong. The Mercedes also has a rock solid reliability record.

Inside the cabin everything is extremely well made from the best materials and fabrics. Every single switch and button operates with a slick precision. Controls are easy to use, while there is a rotary knob, which combines many functions in one. Furthermore it is easy to get used to.

Driver's position has a wide range of adjustments, so driver's of all shapes and sizes will find themselves comfortable.

The Mercedes-Benz is a large car with plenty of space inside the cabin. The front occupants have more generous accommodation though. There is also enough room in the back for adults to get comfortable, but it is not the best car for a long trips for four. A large boot has plenty of space to take all your luggage.

The CL has all the safety equipment and features you might expect from a car with such a price tag. There are all-round airbags, stability control, powerful brakes, and much more to avoid the accident or to reduce risk of an injuries in case the accident has happened.

CL's equipment level is very generous. Leather upholstery, climate control, electrically adjustable seats and wood trim are standard across the range. The CL 600 adds a voice control, satellite navigation, massage seats and a couple of more goodies.

Production of the Mercedes-Benz CL still continues.

Advantages: The Mercedes-Benz CL is extremely comfortable and stylish super-coupe. It comes with loads of luxury equipment and plenty of spare engine power.

Disadvantages: This car has a very hefty price tag, and to run it you must also have a very deep pocket.

Verdict: Exclusive sports car but with a big price tag.

Also consider: Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.
